Simon Wheatley captures the birth of grime in this generation defining photography collection. Compiled of photographs from youth clubs, bedrooms, parks, and any place where the youth of the 2000s came together, we’re able to see a lost time where people connected in person instead of online, where we weren’t defined by who we were or where we came from. Wheatley not only shows a nostalgia for a time long gone, he uses today’s youth to create a framework of what went wrong over the 15 years since grime’s birth with help from ex artist Hak Baker’s poetry and diary entries reminiscing on the time he longs to return.
